What is particular
to Samsung.

This page draws on Samsung's range code guide and on two user manuals: the NE63A6711 electric range and the NX60A6711SS gas range. Induction models such as the NSI6D series and ranges with an oven divider add codes of their own, so the model label is read before anything is tested.

A knob recall on slide-ins

In 2024 Samsung announced a voluntary recall of certain slide-in electric ranges with front-mounted knobs, because the knobs could be turned on by accidental contact from people or pets. The remedy is a free set of knob locks or covers, and the serial number decides whether your range is included.

A covered vent raises C-24

Samsung ties C-24 to oven heat rising faster than normal, usually because the vent at the back of the range top is covered. Moving a pan or foil off the vent often clears it without any part.

Gas ovens have C-25

The gas range manual adds C-25 for an oven that does not warm up normally, and it asks you to look for an oven liner over the hole in the oven floor. A liner or foil there keeps the temperature from rising.

Demo mode still lights gas

In Demo mode, shown as tESt, the oven and electric elements will not heat, yet gas burners still ignite. A gas range that lights on top but will not bake may simply be in Demo mode.

Parts

Samsung fixes one communication code on named induction models with a software update rather than a part. Parts availability and lead times were not confirmed on a Samsung source, so none is promised before the model and serial number are read.

Repair or replace

A covered vent, an oven liner, Demo mode or a partition that is not seated needs no part at all. When a sensor, lock or board code survives a power reset, a single-part repair usually makes more sense than replacing a range that already fits the space and the gas or electric hookup.

My Samsung range shows C-24 while I bake. What should I check first?
Look at the vent at the back of the range top; Samsung links C-24 to a vent that is fully or partly covered. Move any pan or foil, then open and close the door a few times, or turn the oven off and leave the door open for a minute.
Is my Samsung slide-in electric range part of the knob recall?
Samsung lists the affected slide-in electric models on its recall page and checks each range by its 15-digit serial number. You can keep using the range while waiting for the free knob locks or covers, but keep the range top clear when you are not cooking.
Why do the burners on my Samsung gas range light while the oven stays cold?
If the display shows tESt, the range is in Demo mode, which blocks oven heat while gas burners still ignite. Turn Demo mode off using your manual; if there is no Demo code and the oven stays cold, book a visit.
What does bAd LinE mean on a Samsung range?
Samsung shows bAd LinE when the power cord is not connected correctly. Keep the breaker off and have the installer or a technician redo the connection rather than working on the wiring yourself.
