GE ranges,
specifically.

GE-badged ranges are gas or electric, freestanding or slide-in, and the newer ones add Crisp Mode, no-preheat air fry and a removable EasyWash oven tray. Their electronic oven controls report trouble as F-codes from one list that GE Appliances keeps for all its ranges and wall ovens.

The GE lineup

What is particular
to GE.

GE ranges come in 30-inch freestanding and slide-in versions, gas or electric, many with convection and air fry. The fuel, the fit and the model number on the label decide which igniter, element or control a visit needs.

The burners can wait out an oven code

For most oven codes GE asks you to leave the range off at the breaker until it is repaired. It also allows switching power back on long enough to cook on the surface units, then off again, so a failed oven does not end dinner.

A clicking oven is often normal

GE explains that its electric ranges hold oven temperature by switching the elements through relays, and that the clicking you hear is part of that. A click with steady heat is fine; clicking with a cold oven is the case to look into.

Induction and dual fuel sit with Profile

On GE Appliances' own range listings, every induction model and the one dual-fuel model carry the GE Profile name. A range badged simply GE is gas or electric, which tells the technician which parts to bring.

Sugar can pit the glass top

GE's manual treats pits in the glass from a hot sugar spill as damage that calls for a technician and new glass. Fine scratches, by contrast, are cosmetic and fade with cleaning.

Parts

GE sells a very large number of ranges, so sensors, bake elements, igniters and knobs for current models are easy to source. Keypanels and control boards are model-specific and may need to be ordered after the first visit.

Repair or replace

Sensors, elements, igniters and door lock parts are sensible repairs on a GE range of almost any age. An older range that needs a new control and a keypanel at once is the point where comparing with a new one is fair.

Questions about
GE ranges.

Can I use the burners while my GE range shows an F-code?
GE says yes, briefly: switch the breaker back on, cook on the surface units, then turn the breaker off again. The oven itself should stay unused until the visit.
What should I do first when F2 appears on a GE range?
Turn the range off at the breaker. GE describes F2 as the oven going past a preset temperature limit, and it is the code to treat as urgent.
Why does my GE electric range click while baking?
GE's manual explains that relays switch the elements on and off to hold the oven temperature. The sound is normal as long as the oven heats.
Does GE make an induction range?
On GE Appliances' listings, the induction ranges are all sold under GE Profile. If your range says GE alone, it is gas or electric.
