BlueStar ranges,
specifically.

BlueStar builds gas, dual-fuel and induction ranges, with open burners on its RNB and Platinum gas lines and a choice of more than 1,000 colors. Its dual-fuel and Platinum induction ranges add a touchscreen oven with F-codes, and the induction models carry a second set of E-codes for the glass top.

The BlueStar lineup

What is particular
to BlueStar.

BlueStar sells RNB, Platinum, RCS and sealed-burner gas ranges, BSDF dual-fuel ranges and BSPIR Platinum induction ranges. Only the dual-fuel and induction models have the touchscreen and published codes, so the series settles what a visit starts with.

No reignition between HIGH and OFF

BlueStar burners relight on their own if the flame goes out, but only when the knob is set in its cooking range. Between the HIGH and OFF positions the flame will not relight, and BlueStar warns that gas could escape there.

Two code sets on induction

A BlueStar Platinum induction range shows F-codes on the oven touchscreen and a separate set, E2, E6, E8 and Er47, on the induction zone displays. The display a code appears on tells you which half of the range it concerns.

The panel fan runs after cooking

A fan behind the control panel keeps running after the oven is turned off until the oven falls below 200°F. BlueStar lists that as normal, so a fan heard after dinner is not by itself a repair.

Open burners, precise simmer

The RNB Nova series uses 22,000 BTU UltraNova open burners alongside a simmer burner BlueStar rates down to 130°. Open burners clean and service differently from sealed ones, which matters for clogged ports and uneven flames.

Parts

BlueStar ranges are built to order in many colors and configurations, so trim and some burner parts are matched to the serial number. Some parts may be ordered after the first visit.

Repair or replace

BlueStar gas ranges are simple, heavy appliances whose igniters, valves and burners are routine repairs. On dual-fuel and induction models, replacement is worth weighing only when the touchscreen control and other boards fail together on an older unit.

Questions about
BlueStar ranges.

Why won't my BlueStar burner relight after the flame goes out?
Check the knob position. BlueStar burners relight on their own only in the cooking range of the knob; set between HIGH and OFF, the flame will not relight and gas can escape, so turn it fully off, air the room and relight properly.
My BlueStar burner lights but the clicking will not stop. Why?
BlueStar lists two causes: burners that are still wet, or a range that is not plugged into a properly grounded outlet. Let the burners dry and try again; if the clicking continues, book a visit to check the outlet and igniters.
My BlueStar induction range shows a symbol and will not heat. What is it?
If the zone shows BlueStar's no-cookware symbol, it cannot find a suitable pan: the zone is empty, the pan is not suited to induction or its base is too small. Codes such as E2 or E8 are separate and point to heat or cooling problems.
Is it normal for my BlueStar range fan to run after I switch the oven off?
Yes. BlueStar says the fan behind the control panel keeps going until the oven has cooled to 200°F. A fan that never stops, or Fan Error F60 on the touchscreen, is worth a visit.
