Monogram ranges,
specifically.

Monogram, the top GE Appliances line, lists its ranges as professional models: all-gas and dual-fuel models in 30, 36 and 48 inches, plus 30- and 36-inch induction. The larger ones add a griddle or a grill, and the dual-fuel ovens run on knobs with a small display.

The Monogram lineup

What is particular
to Monogram.

Monogram professional ranges come in 30-, 36- and 48-inch widths as all-gas or dual fuel, and in 30 and 36 inches as induction. Burner count, grill or griddle and fuel type decide the parts and the time a visit needs.

Grill and griddle options

The 48-inch dual-fuel Monogram can pair four burners with both a grill and a griddle. That adds cooking surfaces, and parts, beyond the burners for a technician to check.

Burners lock out during self-clean

On the dual-fuel models the surface burners are locked out while the oven cleans. Turning a knob on shows a message asking you to turn it off, and the burners stay off until the cycle ends.

Broiling needs a closed door

Monogram's dual-fuel ovens are built for closed-door broiling only. A broiler that seems weak is often simply being used with the door ajar.

208-volt homes clean longer

If the range runs on a 208-volt supply, Monogram asks for a five-hour clean time. A short clean on that supply can leave the oven dirty without anything being wrong.

Parts

Common sensors and many gas parts overlap with other GE Appliances ranges. Professional burner assemblies, grill and griddle parts and induction boards are specific to Monogram and can take longer to arrive.

Repair or replace

A professional range is expensive to replace and built to be serviced, so repairing it is almost always the right call. Only extensive damage across several systems on an old unit makes replacement worth pricing.

Questions about
Monogram ranges.

Why won't my Monogram burners work during self-clean?
They are locked out on purpose until the clean finishes. The display asks you to turn the burner off if one is switched on.
How long should a Monogram range self-clean on 208 volts?
Monogram's manual asks for five hours on a 208-volt supply. A shorter cycle may not finish the job.
Why is my Monogram broiler not browning food?
Check that the door is shut all the way. The dual-fuel ovens are designed to broil with the door shut, and the probe must not be plugged in.
What sizes do Monogram professional ranges come in?
All-gas and dual-fuel models come in 30, 36 and 48 inches; induction models in 30 and 36 inches.
