This page draws on Gaggenau's US pages for its range alternative, its cooktops and its ovens. The pairings it shows include a 36-inch Vario 400 gas cooktop over the 36-inch EB 333 oven and a full-surface induction cooktop over a 30-inch 400 series oven.

Two appliances, not one

Gaggenau builds its range alternative from a cooktop above and an oven, combi-steam oven or combi-microwave below, in widths from 30 to 60 inches. A burner problem and an oven problem are therefore separate diagnoses, even though they sit in one cabinet run.

The flame relights itself

On Gaggenau gas modules, a flame that blows out is relit automatically, and if relighting fails the gas is switched off. A burner that goes out and stays out may be that safety doing its job, and it is a reason to book a visit rather than to keep trying.

Induction without zones

Gaggenau's full-surface induction has no fixed zones: up to six pans can sit anywhere, and a moved pan keeps its power and timer settings. When a pan does not heat, where it sits and how the display reads it matter more than on a zoned top.

Knobs away from the burners

The Vario 400 series is run by illuminated knobs mounted on the cabinet front or the countertop, apart from the modules they control. A control that will not respond can lie in that knob and its wiring, not in the burner or element itself.

Parts

Gaggenau marks its 24-inch 200 series ovens as discontinued in December 2025, so the model on each label is read before any part is looked up. Parts availability was not confirmed on a Gaggenau source, and no lead time is promised.

Repair or replace

Because the cooktop and the oven are separate appliances, one can be repaired or replaced without touching the other. With built-in pieces cut to fit the cabinetry, repairing the one that failed is usually the better path than reworking the whole arrangement.

Does Gaggenau make a range?
Not in the US. Gaggenau pairs a Vario cooktop with a built-in oven below and calls it a range alternative. A visit can cover both parts, each checked as its own appliance.
The gas burner on my Gaggenau went out and will not relight. Is that normal?
Gaggenau relights a blown-out flame automatically and switches the gas off if that fails. Turn the knob off, do not work on the burner or gas line yourself, and book a visit if it happens again.
What does a visit to a Gaggenau range alternative start from?
From the model labels of both the cooktop and the oven, since they are separate appliances. The technician then checks whichever half shows the problem.
The door of my Gaggenau EB 333 oven feels very heavy. Is something wrong?
