Frigidaire ranges,
specifically.

Frigidaire sells gas, electric, induction and 36-inch dual-fuel ranges in the US, from coil-element models to front-control ranges with air fry. Its support site keeps a separate code guide for electric ranges, and many range calls turn out to be a burner cap, a coil switch or a glass-top element that cycles as designed.

The Frigidaire lineup

What is particular
to Frigidaire.

This page draws on Frigidaire's owner support articles for ranges, including its electric range code guide, which names no models. The catalog runs from coil-element electric ranges to front-control gas, induction and dual-fuel models, so the rating label decides which guide applies.

Coil elements have a switch

On coil-element models, Frigidaire's first check for an element that will not heat is the safety switch in the center of the coil, which should spring back when pressed. Swapping the coil with another one then shows whether the coil or its receptacle is the problem.

Glass-top elements cycle

Frigidaire says the radiant elements on a smooth glass top cycle on and off even on High. That protects the glass, and it happens more often with a small or warped pan.

Two lights on the panel

Frigidaire ranges can have an element-on light and a separate hot-surface light. The hot-surface light stays on after cooking until the glass has cooled to a moderate level, and the warmer zone stays hot until it goes out.

Burner checks before a visit

When gas burners will not light, Frigidaire lists the knob in the LITE position, burner caps seated level, clean burner ports and a connected power cord. Those checks come before any gas part is suspected.

Parts

Frigidaire's range articles send owners to the installer for units installed within the past 30 days. Parts availability was not checked on a Frigidaire source, so no lead time is promised before the model and serial number are read.

Repair or replace

A cap that is off-center, a coil that is not seated, the lock feature or a cycling glass-top element needs no part. On an everyday range, a single element, igniter or sensor repair makes sense; a control board on an older, basic model is worth weighing against replacement.

Questions about
Frigidaire ranges.

Why does the element on my Frigidaire glass top keep switching off on High?
Frigidaire designs radiant elements to cycle on and off even on High, which keeps the heat steady and protects the glass. It cycles more with small or warped pans.
One coil element on my Frigidaire range will not heat. What can I check?
Check the safety switch in the center of the coil springs back, then look for damage and swap the coil with another one. If the swapped coil works, the original coil is the problem; if not, the receptacle is.
A dash shows on my Frigidaire range and nothing responds. What is it?
That is the lock feature. Press and hold OFF for 6 seconds to cancel it, and the oven door unlocks as well.
My Frigidaire range was installed last week and shows a code. Who should I call?
Frigidaire points owners back to the installer for units installed within the past 30 days. After that, book a visit.
