All range typesWhat is particular
to Hestan.
Hestan's current ranges are the KRG all-gas, KRD dual-fuel and KRI induction models, and some homes have the earlier KRDS smart range with a connected Smart Burner. The all-gas model has no oven display or self-clean, which narrows what can go wrong with its oven.
Knobs must be off after an outage
When power returns after an outage, a Hestan range shows an error message unless every knob is in the OFF position. Setting all knobs to OFF clears it; nothing is broken.
A spark module for each burner
Each sealed burner has its own spark-ignition module with flame sensing and automatic relighting, and should light in under 4 seconds. An occasional spark on a very low simmer is normal; constant sparking with a flame present is not.
The range top can keep working
If the oven's mode or temperature backlight stays on or blinks, Hestan points to the oven controller or temperature sensing and says the range top can still be used. The oven waits for service while the burners do not.
Two tables on induction
Hestan's induction range shows oven codes such as ERR04 and a separate set of range-top codes, Er or E plus a number, on its 7-segment display. Er 03, for example, means water or a utensil on the touch keys, not a failed part.
Parts
Hestan lists a separate indoor parts distributor, and parts are matched to the model and serial number. As a smaller maker, some parts may be ordered after the first visit.
Repair or replace
Hestan ranges carry heavy burners and simple ignition that are routine to repair. Replacement is worth discussing only when an older induction or smart model needs boards that are hard to source.
