What F50
actually means.
Probe Error F50 tells you the range has a problem with the meat probe. BlueStar separates it from the simpler messages Probe Not Detected, which just asks you to plug the probe in, and Remove Probe, shown when the probe is left in during Broil or Clean.

What to do when F50 shows on the rangeKind of codeTemperature sensor
The oven sensor sent a reading the control would not accept, or one that climbed well past the setting. A loose plug or a sensor that has drifted is ruled out before the control board, and a temperature that keeps rising means the range is switched off at the breaker first.
Usually leads toTemperature sensor and thermostat repair
A range oven that bakes hot, bakes slow, takes forever to preheat or posts a sensor code, traced to the sensor probe, the thermostat or the calibration.
Shows up asRange Oven Temperature Wrong
Recipes burn or come out underdone, and an oven thermometer disagrees with the temperature set on the range.

Gas range
Open flames on top and a gas-fired oven below, all fed by one supply line behind the range and lit by igniters rather than a match.
Dual-fuel range
Gas burners on top and an electric oven below, the combination most professional-style ranges use, needing both a gas line and a 240-volt circuit.
Induction range
A glass top that heats the pan itself through copper coils and power boards, over an electric oven, with electronics doing almost all the work.
