C-20 covers both ways the oven sensor can go wrong while the oven runs: an open circuit or a short.

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Dacor's own guidance for C-20 on its ranges. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Turn the knobs to OFF and restart; if C-20 persists, cut all power for at least 30 seconds and reconnect.

02

If it comes back, stop using the oven for anything temperature-critical and book a visit.

It usually turns into temperature sensor and thermostat repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

C-20 is the cavity sensor, not the meat probe; Dacor gives the probe its own code, C-23.

Questions
about C-20.

Can I clear C-20 myself?
Turn the knobs to OFF and restart; if C-20 persists, cut all power for at least 30 seconds and reconnect. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
My Dacor shows C-20 but the oven still gets warm. Is it safe to bake?
The oven may heat, but with the sensor reading open or shorted it cannot hold a set temperature, so results are unpredictable. Use the range top instead and book a visit.
Is C-20 on a Dacor the same as the probe code?
No. C-20 is the sensor inside the cavity; the plug-in temperature probe reports as C-23. Removing the probe will not clear C-20.

Back to your everyday

Still showing C-20?

Book with the code exactly as it appears, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or scorching — with a code, that is where the diagnosis begins.
