Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Dacor's own guidance for C-21 on its ranges. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Turn the oven off and let it cool with the door closed; restart it once it is cool.

02

If the oven seems to keep heating with the knobs off, switch the range off at the breaker; if C-21 repeats, book a visit.

Still there?

It usually turns into bake and broil elements. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

C-21 is not the vent blockage message; Dacor gives a blocked vent its own code, C-24.

Questions
about C-21.

Can I clear C-21 myself?
Turn the oven off and let it cool with the door closed; restart it once it is cool. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
What should I do first when my Dacor range shows C-21?
Switch the oven off and give it time to cool before restarting, since the code means the inside ran too hot. If it keeps heating with the knobs off, turn off the breaker.
Why does C-21 on my Dacor only appear on long roasts?
Long, hot cycles are when an oven that overshoots its temperature is most likely to cross the limit. Tell the technician the mode and setting you used when C-21 appeared.

Still showing C-21?

Book with the code exactly as it appears, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or scorching — with a code, that is where the diagnosis begins.
