What E6
actually means.
The ERA's user guide ties E6, together with E2, to cookware that is poor quality or not made for induction. AGA warns that carrying on with such pans can seriously damage the induction hob.

What to do when E6 shows on the rangeKind of codeSurface elements and induction
A radiant element, a coil or an induction zone did not heat the way the control expected, or ran hotter than it should. The pan, the switch behind the knob and the wiring to the element come first; on induction, the power board and the coil under the glass are checked next. A zone that will not switch off, or a crack in the glass, means the breaker goes off before anything else.
Usually leads toSurface element and glass top repair
Electric zones that stay cold, run too hot or will not switch off, and cracked or damaged glass on radiant and induction models.
Shows up asRange Error Code
The range display shows letters, numbers or a flashing symbol, beeps, and stops the oven, a cooking zone or a clean.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from AGA's own guidance for E6 on its ranges. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Stop using the pan that was on the zone and test your cookware with a magnet.
If E6 appears with a flat, magnetic pan of the right size, book a visit.

What not to do
E6 is not a message from the cast-iron ovens or the hotplate; it belongs to the ERA's induction hob.
