What CE
actually means.
CE appears when the touch panel sends commands and gets no answer from the main board in the base of the range. The two are joined by a communication cable routed inside the cooker, so the link between them is the first suspect.
AGA range display
What to do when CE shows on the rangeKind of codeControls and communication
The display, the main board or the induction power board lost contact with one another, or one of them failed its own self-check. A power dip, a loose cable or moisture from a boil-over is ruled out before a board is replaced, and a range that keeps heating while this code shows is switched off at the breaker.
Usually leads toKnobs, switches and controls
Knobs that spin or crack, touch keys that do nothing, blank displays, clocks that reset and control boards that switch the wrong thing.
Shows up asRange Error Code
The range display shows letters, numbers or a flashing symbol, beeps, and stops the oven, a cooking zone or a clean.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from AGA's own guidance for CE on its ranges. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Note CE and whether anything was moved or worked on recently.
Book a visit; the technician checks the communication cable and both of its sockets before looking at either board.
Still there?
It usually turns into knobs, switches and controls. Book with the code and the model number.
What not to do
CE is different from the handset losing contact. The handset shows its own no-link symbol when the range is off, in standby or out of range.
What you may
notice with it.
The range problems CE tends to arrive with. Answer these at the range before anyone is booked.
