What F/3
actually means.
Each induction coil on a ZLINE range has a temperature sensor, called an NTC, and F/3 means that sensor has failed or is not connected properly. Without it the control cannot judge the coil's heat.
ZLINE range display · also shown as F3
What to do when F/3 shows on the rangeKind of codeTemperature sensor
The oven sensor sent a reading the control would not accept, or one that climbed well past the setting. A loose plug or a sensor that has drifted is ruled out before the control board, and a temperature that keeps rising means the range is switched off at the breaker first.
Usually leads toTemperature sensor and thermostat repair
A range oven that bakes hot, bakes slow, takes forever to preheat or posts a sensor code, traced to the sensor probe, the thermostat or the calibration.
Shows up asRange Error Code
The range display shows letters, numbers or a flashing symbol, beeps, and stops the oven, a cooking zone or a clean.

Gas range
Open flames on top and a gas-fired oven below, all fed by one supply line behind the range and lit by igniters rather than a match.
Dual-fuel range
Gas burners on top and an electric oven below, the combination most professional-style ranges use, needing both a gas line and a 240-volt circuit.
Induction range
A glass top that heats the pan itself through copper coils and power boards, over an electric oven, with electronics doing almost all the work.
