What H
actually means.
When an ILVE induction zone is turned off, its display shows 0 for three seconds and then switches to H while the area is still hot. H is a residual-heat warning only.
ILVE range display · also shown as [H], (H)
What to do when H shows on the rangeKind of codeMode, not a failure
Something the range was told to do, or a state it chose on purpose — a control lock, a Sabbath setting, a demo mode that lights the display but never heats, a pan warning on an induction zone. Nothing has worn out, and no part is needed.
Usually leads toNo repair
Leave the zone alone until H goes out.
Shows up asInduction Range Not Detecting Pan
An induction zone flashes, beeps, shows its no-pan symbol or switches itself off, even with a pan sitting right on it.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from ILVE's own guidance for H on its ranges. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Leave the zone alone until H goes out.
Cleared?
The range was set right without a new part. If the same message comes back while a burner or the oven is in use, or the range cuts out again, treat it as a new problem and book it.
What not to do
H is not an error and does not mean the zone is heating.
What you may
notice with it.
The range problem H tends to arrive with. Answer these at the range before anyone is booked.

Dual-fuel range
Gas burners on top and an electric oven below, the combination most professional-style ranges use, needing both a gas line and a 240-volt circuit.
Induction range
A glass top that heats the pan itself through copper coils and power boards, over an electric oven, with electronics doing almost all the work.
In ILVE's own words
The symbol [0] appears on the hob display for 3 seconds, then it disappears from the display changes to the symbol [H], if the cooking area is still hot.
