What 5d
actually means.
On the ECF freestanding ranges, 5d on the display means demo mode is active. Everything responds as usual, but no heat is produced.

What to do when 5d shows on the rangeKind of codeMode, not a failure
Something the range was told to do, or a state it chose on purpose — a control lock, a Sabbath setting, a demo mode that lights the display but never heats, a pan warning on an induction zone. Nothing has worn out, and no part is needed.
Usually leads toNo repair
Disconnect power to the range and reconnect it.
Shows up asRange Oven Not Heating
The burners or elements on top work, but the oven below stays cold, heats only a little, or never finishes preheating.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Electrolux's own guidance for 5d on its ranges. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Disconnect power to the range and reconnect it.
Enter the settings menu and switch the demo parameter off.
Cleared?
The range was set right without a new part. If the same message comes back while a burner or the oven is in use, or the range cuts out again, treat it as a new problem and book it.
What not to do
5d is a setting, not a failed heating part.
What you may
notice with it.

Gas range
Open flames on top and a gas-fired oven below, all fed by one supply line behind the range and lit by igniters rather than a match.
Dual-fuel range
Gas burners on top and an electric oven below, the combination most professional-style ranges use, needing both a gas line and a 240-volt circuit.
Induction range
A glass top that heats the pan itself through copper coils and power boards, over an electric oven, with electronics doing almost all the work.
In Electrolux's own words
The demo mode is now active and the range will operate normally with the difference that “5d” will always be displayed and no heat will be produced.

Book with the code exactly as it appears, the full model number, and whether you notice any smell of gas or scorching — with a code, that is where the diagnosis begins.
