What H
actually means.
Each zone on a Bertazzoni induction range has a residual-heat warning. After you switch a zone off, a flashing H tells you it is still very hot, and the letter goes out once that area drops below about 140°F.

What to do when H shows on the rangeKind of codeMode, not a failure
Something the range was told to do, or a state it chose on purpose — a control lock, a Sabbath setting, a demo mode that lights the display but never heats, a pan warning on an induction zone. Nothing has worn out, and no part is needed.
Usually leads toNo repair
Keep hands and utensils off the zone while H flashes.
Shows up asInduction Range Not Detecting Pan
An induction zone flashes, beeps, shows its no-pan symbol or switches itself off, even with a pan sitting right on it.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Bertazzoni's own guidance for H on its ranges. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Keep hands and utensils off the zone while H flashes.
You may start cooking on that zone again at any time; H does not block it.
Cleared?
The range was set right without a new part. If the same message comes back while a burner or the oven is in use, or the range cuts out again, treat it as a new problem and book it.
What not to do
H is a burn warning, not a problem with the zone or the control.
What you may
notice with it.
The range problem H tends to arrive with. Answer these at the range before anyone is booked.

Open flames on top and a gas-fired oven below, all fed by one supply line behind the range and lit by igniters rather than a match.
Dual-fuel range
Gas burners on top and an electric oven below, the combination most professional-style ranges use, needing both a gas line and a 240-volt circuit.
Induction range
A glass top that heats the pan itself through copper coils and power boards, over an electric oven, with electronics doing almost all the work.
