What A
actually means.
A on a zone display is Bertazzoni's heating accelerator, which runs the zone at peak power for a time that depends on the level you pick. While it works, A and your chosen level flash in turn; turning the knob down cancels it.

What to do when A shows on the rangeKind of codeMode, not a failure
Something the range was told to do, or a state it chose on purpose — a control lock, a Sabbath setting, a demo mode that lights the display but never heats, a pan warning on an induction zone. Nothing has worn out, and no part is needed.
Usually leads toNo repair
Nothing is needed. To stop the accelerator, turn the knob down and it switches off.
Shows up asRange Surface Element Not Heating
One coil or glass-top zone on an electric range stays cold, heats only weakly, or will not respond while the others work.

Before you book,

Each step comes from Bertazzoni's own guidance for A on its ranges. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Nothing is needed. To stop the accelerator, turn the knob down and it switches off.
Cleared?
The range was set right without a new part. If the same message comes back while a burner or the oven is in use, or the range cuts out again, treat it as a new problem and book it.
What not to do
An alternating A and number is not an error code; it is the display of a feature you selected.
What you may
notice with it.
The range problem A tends to arrive with. Answer these at the range before anyone is booked.

Gas range
Open flames on top and a gas-fired oven below, all fed by one supply line behind the range and lit by igniters rather than a match.
Dual-fuel range
Gas burners on top and an electric oven below, the combination most professional-style ranges use, needing both a gas line and a 240-volt circuit.
Induction range
A glass top that heats the pan itself through copper coils and power boards, over an electric oven, with electronics doing almost all the work.
In Bertazzoni's own words
The Heating Accelerator mode allows each zone to be operated at peak power for a time proportional to the heating power selected.
