What E8
actually means.
E8 is Wolf's fan code for the legacy IR induction range. Induction boards produce heat of their own, and a fan below the glass carries it away; E8 says that fan is out of step.

What to do when E8 shows on the rangeKind of codeFans
The convection fan behind the oven's back wall, or the cooling fan that keeps heat away from the controls, did not spin as fast as the control expected. Grease on the blade and a loose plug are checked first; a tired motor, and on the cooling side a thermal fuse, come after.
Usually leads toConvection fan repair
A convection oven on a range that bakes unevenly, rattles, squeals or never starts its fan, traced to the motor, the blade or the convection element.
Shows up asRange Surface Element Not Heating
One coil or glass-top zone on an electric range stays cold, heats only weakly, or will not respond while the others work.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Wolf's own guidance for E8 on its ranges. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Switch the breaker off for 30 seconds and back on, then test one zone.
If E8 returns, stop using the induction top and book a visit.
What not to do
E8 is not the oven's convection fan. It concerns cooling under the glass top.

Gas range
Open flames on top and a gas-fired oven below, all fed by one supply line behind the range and lit by igniters rather than a match.
Dual-fuel range
Gas burners on top and an electric oven below, the combination most professional-style ranges use, needing both a gas line and a 240-volt circuit.
Induction range
A glass top that heats the pan itself through copper coils and power boards, over an electric oven, with electronics doing almost all the work.
