What ES
actually means.
ES on a JennAir range is not a problem at all: it is Energy Save, a mode that blanks the display and clock after the range sits idle. It is easy to read the letters as E5.

What to do when ES shows on the rangeKind of codeMode, not a failure
Something the range was told to do, or a state it chose on purpose — a control lock, a Sabbath setting, a demo mode that lights the display but never heats, a pan warning on an induction zone. Nothing has worn out, and no part is needed.
Usually leads toNo repair
Press any control key or open the oven door to wake the display.
Shows up asRange Control Panel Not Responding
The touch keys or knobs on the range do nothing, only some keys work, the display is blank or frozen, or it beeps without starting.

JennAir ranges with the Energy Save feature (some models).
Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from JennAir's own guidance for ES on its ranges. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Press any control key or open the oven door to wake the display.
To turn Energy Save off, press and hold CLOCK for 10 seconds until the display shows ES and Off.
Cleared?
The range was set right without a new part. If the same message comes back while a burner or the oven is in use, or the range cuts out again, treat it as a new problem and book it.
What not to do
ES is not an error code and needs no repair. Only if it will not clear after the steps and a one-minute breaker reset is a visit worth booking.
