What L
actually means.
L on the displays of a Sofia Pro induction range means the control lock is active. It is set, and cleared, with all zones off by pressing and turning the first two left knobs counterclockwise to the A position and holding them for at least two seconds.

What to do when L shows on the rangeKind of codeMode, not a failure
Something the range was told to do, or a state it chose on purpose — a control lock, a Sabbath setting, a demo mode that lights the display but never heats, a pan warning on an induction zone. Nothing has worn out, and no part is needed.
Usually leads toNo repair
Repeat the two-knob hold to release the lock, then return every knob to zero before cooking.
Shows up asRange Control Panel Not Responding
The touch keys or knobs on the range do nothing, only some keys work, the display is blank or frozen, or it beeps without starting.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Fulgor Milano's own guidance for L on its ranges. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Repeat the two-knob hold to release the lock, then return every knob to zero before cooking.
Cleared?
The range was set right without a new part. If the same message comes back while a burner or the oven is in use, or the range cuts out again, treat it as a new problem and book it.
What not to do
L is not a failure. Holding the knobs longer than 30 seconds is treated as an invalid input and brings up a different message.

Gas range
Open flames on top and a gas-fired oven below, all fed by one supply line behind the range and lit by igniters rather than a match.
Dual-fuel range
Gas burners on top and an electric oven below, the combination most professional-style ranges use, needing both a gas line and a 240-volt circuit.
Induction range
A glass top that heats the pan itself through copper coils and power boards, over an electric oven, with electronics doing almost all the work.
