What A2
actually means.
A2 tells you the door could not be locked after you started Self Clean, so the cycle cannot run. Often the door was not closed firmly or the lock needs to return to its starting point.

What to do when A2 shows on the rangeKind of codeDoor and lock
The oven door lock did not move to where the control sent it, or its switch reported the wrong position. It shows up most around self-clean; the latch, its switches, the hinges and how squarely the door closes are looked at before the lock motor is changed.
Usually leads toDoor hinge, gasket and lock repair
An oven door that will not close, sits crooked, leaks heat, or stays locked after self-clean, traced to the hinges, the gasket, the glass or the lock.
Shows up asRange Self-Clean Problems
The self-clean cycle will not start, stops partway, leaves the door locked, smokes heavily, or leaves the oven dead afterward.

Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Fisher & Paykel's own guidance for A2 on its ranges. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Turn power to the range off at the wall and back on, then wait about 10 seconds so the lock can return to its start position.
Set the clock, close the door firmly and try Self Clean again; book a visit if A2 repeats.
Still there?
It usually turns into door hinge, gasket and lock repair. Book with the code and the model number.
What not to do
A2 is not the stuck-shut case. That one, a door that will not unlock after the clean, is A3.
