Why? On many models one power board drives a pair of zones. When both stop at once, that board or its supply is the first thing tested, before either coil. ### Is it worth repairing the boards on an induction range? Usually, if the parts are available. A board is a significant part, but it is still a fraction of a new induction range, and the rest of the appliance is often in good condition. The answer changes when the board has been discontinued. ### Can a surge damage an induction range? It can. The power boards are the most sensitive parts, and a range that died during a storm or an outage is checked there first.
