ERR OC shows in the window of the oven selector knob when the knob can no longer talk to the oven controller. On these ranges the knob carries metal contacts on its stem, so a dirty or damp contact can break the link. Wolf range display What to do when ERR OC shows on the range ### Kind of code Controls and communication The display, the main board or the induction power board lost contact with one another, or one of them failed its own self-check. A power dip, a loose cable or moisture from a boil-over is ruled out before a board is replaced, and a range that keeps heating while this code shows is switched off at the breaker. ### Usually leads to Knobs, switches and controls Knobs that spin or crack, touch keys that do nothing, blank displays, clocks that reset and control boards that switch the wrong thing. ### Shows up as Range Control Panel Not Responding The touch keys or knobs on the range do nothing, only some keys work, the display is blank or frozen, or it beeps without starting. ### Make Wolf The cooking brand of the Wisconsin-based Sub-Zero Group, known for red-knobbed gas, dual-fuel and induction ranges. ### Source Wolf answer: legacy dual-fuel range, ERR OC Legacy Wolf dual-fuel ranges with a display window in the oven selector knob. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Wolf's own guidance for ERR OC on its ranges. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Turn the breaker off, pull the knob that showed ERR OC straight off and check that the metal contacts on its stem are clean and dry. 02 Push the knob firmly back on and restore power; if ERR OC returns, book a visit. ### Still there? Only the oven selector knob has a display window, and that is where this message appears. ## What you may notice with it. The range problems ERR OC tends to arrive with. Turn the breaker off, pull the knob that showed ERR OC straight off and check that the metal contacts on its stem are clean and dry. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Can a wet oven knob cause ERR OC on my Wolf range? Yes. Wolf's first check for ERR OC is that the metal contacts on the knob stem are clean and dry, so moisture or grease from cleaning is a common trigger. Dry the stem with power off before refitting it. ### My double-oven Wolf shows ERR OC on one knob only. What does that tell me? The message is tied to the knob that shows it, so the other oven's link is working. Clean that knob's contacts first and note which side it was if you book a visit. --- **[Read on the site: Wolf legacy dual-fuel range showing ERR OC in the knob](https://rangerepair.center/error-codes/wolf-df-err-oc/)** **[Book a visit with RangeRepair.center](https://rangerepair.center/schedule/)**
