ERR 02 is Wolf's over-temperature report for the legacy dual-fuel oven. It is set when the cavity reaches 630°F with the door unlocked, or 950°F with the door locked for self-clean, which is far beyond any cooking setting. Wolf range display · also shown as ERR 02, Err 2 What to do when 02 shows on the range ### Kind of code Oven heating The oven under the burners called for heat and the cavity did not warm the way the control planned. On an electric oven a bake or broil element that has burned open is the usual cause; on a gas oven the igniter and the valve it opens come first. The wiring and the relay are checked before the board takes the blame. ### Usually leads to Bake and broil elements An electric range oven that stays cold, heats only from above or below, or will not broil, traced to the elements, their terminals or the relay that switches them. ### Shows up as Range Oven Temperature Wrong Recipes burn or come out underdone, and an oven thermometer disagrees with the temperature set on the range. ### Make Wolf The cooking brand of the Wisconsin-based Sub-Zero Group, known for red-knobbed gas, dual-fuel and induction ranges. ### Source Wolf answer: legacy dual-fuel range, error code 02 Legacy Wolf dual-fuel ranges. Wolf lists two limits, one for a normal door and a higher one for a door locked for self-clean. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Wolf's own guidance for 02 on its ranges. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Turn the oven off, keep the door closed and let it cool; if it keeps heating with the knob off, switch the range off at the breaker. 02 After it cools, cycle the breaker off for about 30 seconds and back on; if ERR 02 appears again, leave the oven off and book a visit. ### Still there? Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do ERR 02 is not the oven running a few degrees off the dial. A calibration tweak will not touch it: the control saw a temperature well past its limit. ## What you may notice with it. The range problems 02 tends to arrive with. Turn the oven off, keep the door closed and let it cool; if it keeps heating with the knob off, switch the range off at the breaker. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Is ERR 02 on my Wolf range dangerous? It means the oven passed 630°F with the door unlocked, or 950°F during self-clean, so it deserves caution. If the oven keeps heating after you turn it off, cut power at the breaker and do not use it until it has been inspected. ### My Wolf showed ERR 02 once during self-clean and not since. Should I still book a visit? One report after a reset may not repeat, but a second ERR 02 means something is letting the heat run past the limit. Mention the self-clean timing when you book, because Wolf sets a separate limit for a locked door. --- **[Read on the site: Wolf legacy dual-fuel range showing ERR 02](https://rangerepair.center/error-codes/wolf-df-02/)** **[Book a visit with RangeRepair.center](https://rangerepair.center/schedule/)**
