On a legacy Wolf dual-fuel range, ERR 01 is set when the control drives the door lock motor and does not see either the locked or the unlocked switch within 60 seconds. Wolf's own page ties it to self-clean, the cycle in which the latch has to move. Wolf range display · also shown as ERR 01, Err 1, Error 01 What to do when 01 shows on the range ### Kind of code Door and lock The oven door lock did not move to where the control sent it, or its switch reported the wrong position. It shows up most around self-clean; the latch, its switches, the hinges and how squarely the door closes are looked at before the lock motor is changed. ### Usually leads to Door hinge, gasket and lock repair An oven door that will not close, sits crooked, leaks heat, or stays locked after self-clean, traced to the hinges, the gasket, the glass or the lock. ### Shows up as Range Self-Clean Problems The self-clean cycle will not start, stops partway, leaves the door locked, smokes heavily, or leaves the oven dead afterward. ### Make Wolf The cooking brand of the Wisconsin-based Sub-Zero Group, known for red-knobbed gas, dual-fuel and induction ranges. ### Source Wolf answer: legacy dual-fuel range, error code 01 Legacy Wolf dual-fuel ranges with the illuminated oven selector knob. Wolf's current dual-fuel line is documented separately. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Wolf's own guidance for 01 on its ranges. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Switch the range's breaker off for about 30 seconds, turn it back on and try the oven again. 02 Do not start another self-clean while ERR 01 keeps returning; book a visit and say which cycle the code appeared in. ### Still there? It usually turns into [door hinge, gasket and lock repair](https://rangerepair.center/services/door-hinge-gasket-and-lock-repair/). Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do ERR 01 does not mean the oven failed to heat. The complaint is about the latch confirming its position, so the elements and burners on the range top are not what this code reports. ## What you may notice with it. Switch the range's breaker off for about 30 seconds, turn it back on and try the oven again. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why did my Wolf range show ERR 01 right as self-clean began? Self-clean is when the latch motor has to move, and ERR 01 is logged when neither latch switch confirms the new position within a minute. A single breaker reset is the only home step Wolf gives before a technician checks the lock. ### Can I bake normally on my Wolf range after an ERR 01? If the reset clears the code and the door opens and closes normally, regular baking is usually possible. Hold off on self-clean until the latch has been checked, because that is the cycle that sets ERR 01. --- **[Read on the site: Wolf legacy dual-fuel range showing ERR 01](https://rangerepair.center/error-codes/wolf-df-01/)** **[Book a visit with RangeRepair.center](https://rangerepair.center/schedule/)**
