On the touch-display Portofino dual-fuel range, the oven control can put up ERR with a number after it. Smeg publishes no meaning for the numbers; its manual only tells owners to write down the message, the cooking function and the set temperature and then arrange service. Smeg range display · also shown as ERRx, ERR followed by a number What to do when ERR shows on the range ### Kind of code Controls and communication The display, the main board or the induction power board lost contact with one another, or one of them failed its own self-check. A power dip, a loose cable or moisture from a boil-over is ruled out before a board is replaced, and a range that keeps heating while this code shows is switched off at the breaker. ### Usually leads to Knobs, switches and controls Knobs that spin or crack, touch keys that do nothing, blank displays, clocks that reset and control boards that switch the wrong thing. ### Shows up as Range Error Code The range display shows letters, numbers or a flashing symbol, beeps, and stops the oven, a cooking zone or a clean. ### Make Smeg An Italian manufacturer whose retro-styled and professional ranges come in gas, dual-fuel and induction versions. ### Source Smeg user manual 914777995, linked from the CPF30UGMX page on smeg.com/us Smeg Portofino 30-inch dual-fuel range CPF30UGMX (user manual 914777995). Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Record the full ERR message, the function that was running and the temperature it was set to. 02 Book a visit and share those three details so the technician knows where to start. ### Still there? Record the full ERR message, the function that was running and the temperature it was set to. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Where can I look up what my Smeg ERR number means? Smeg does not publish a list for its ranges. That is why it asks for the message, the function and the set temperature, which help a technician narrow it down. ### Should I keep using my Smeg Portofino oven after an ERR message? The manual gives no owner fix, so treat the oven as out of use until it has been checked, especially if the message returns. --- **[Read on the site: Smeg Portofino range showing ERR | RangeRepair.center](https://rangerepair.center/error-codes/smeg-err/)** **[Book a visit with RangeRepair.center](https://rangerepair.center/schedule/)**
