HS is LG's hot-surface indicator: the top is above 150°F. LG says it is not an error code, only a warning that the surface is too hot to touch. LG range display What to do when HS shows on the range ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure Something the range was told to do, or a state it chose on purpose — a control lock, a Sabbath setting, a demo mode that lights the display but never heats, a pan warning on an induction zone. Keep hands and cloths off the top until HS goes out. ### How long does HS stay on after I cook on my LG range? Until the surface drops below about 150°F, which can take a while after high-heat cooking. ### HS is still lit on my cold LG range top. Is that a problem? Yes.
