On Kenmore gas ranges of the 405.7608 series, Er- followed by a number or letter, or ErrF, means the electronic control recorded a function error. The manual gives a cool-down and power reset before service. Kenmore range display · also shown as ErrF What to do when Er- shows on the range ### Kind of code Controls and communication The display, the main board or the induction power board lost contact with one another, or one of them failed its own self-check. A power dip, a loose cable or moisture from a boil-over is ruled out before a board is replaced, and a range that keeps heating while this code shows is switched off at the breaker. ### Usually leads to Knobs, switches and controls Knobs that spin or crack, touch keys that do nothing, blank displays, clocks that reset and control boards that switch the wrong thing. ### Shows up as Range Error Code The range display shows letters, numbers or a flashing symbol, beeps, and stops the oven, a cooking zone or a clean. ### Make Kenmore A Sears store brand whose ranges were built for it by other appliance manufacturers. ### Source Kenmore Use & Care Guide, gas range 405.7608# Kenmore gas ranges model 405.7608#, whose Use & Care Guide is linked from Kenmore's product page for model 22-76083. ## Before you book, in this order. Press Cancel/Off and let the oven cool for an hour before trying again. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why does my Kenmore gas range need an hour before the reset? The manual asks for the oven to cool fully first, so the control is not reacting to leftover heat when it restarts. ### Does the character after Er- matter on a Kenmore? It identifies the function error, and the manual treats every one the same way at first. Write it down so the technician can start from it. --- **[Read on the site: Kenmore range showing Er- or ErrF | RangeRepair.center](https://rangerepair.center/error-codes/kenmore-er/)** **[Book a visit with RangeRepair.center](https://rangerepair.center/schedule/)**
