On an electric oven a bake or broil element that has burned open is the usual cause; on a gas oven the igniter and the valve it opens come first. Turn the range off at the breaker now. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### How urgent is F2 on a GE range? It is the one to act on right away. Switch the breaker off and keep the oven unused until it has been checked. ### Why is F20 on my GE and not F2? GE lists them as the same code.
