C-70 appears on Dacor dual-fuel ranges that have a water reservoir for steam cooking. It says the steam sensor reads open or shorted while the oven is running. Dacor range display What to do when C-70 shows on the range ### Kind of code Temperature sensor The oven sensor sent a reading the control would not accept, or one that climbed well past the setting. A loose plug or a sensor that has drifted is ruled out before the control board, and a temperature that keeps rising means the range is switched off at the breaker first. ### Usually leads to Temperature sensor and thermostat repair A range oven that bakes hot, bakes slow, takes forever to preheat or posts a sensor code, traced to the sensor probe, the thermostat or the calibration. ### Shows up as Range Oven Not Heating The burners or elements on top work, but the oven below stays cold, heats only a little, or never finishes preheating. ### Make Dacor A Samsung-owned luxury brand that sells professional-style gas, dual-fuel and induction ranges. ### Source Dacor 36-inch Transitional dual-fuel range user manual, troubleshooting Dacor dual-fuel ranges with the steam water reservoir (manual for DOP36P86DLS). Gas-only Dacor ranges do not list it. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Dacor's own guidance for C-70 on its ranges. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Turn both the mode and temperature knobs to OFF and restart. 02 If it persists, disconnect all power for at least 30 seconds; if C-70 still returns, book a visit. ### Still there? It usually turns into [temperature sensor and thermostat repair](https://rangerepair.center/services/temperature-sensor-and-thermostat-repair/). Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do C-70 is not a signal that the reservoir is empty or needs descaling; it reports the sensor itself. ## What you may notice with it. Turn both the mode and temperature knobs to OFF and restart. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Will refilling the reservoir clear C-70 on my Dacor? Probably not. C-70 is about the steam sensor reading open or shorted, not about how much water is in the tank. Try the knob reset and a power cycle, then book a visit. ### Why does only my Dacor dual-fuel range list C-70? The code belongs to the steam system, and the steam water reservoir is part of the dual-fuel model. An all-gas Dacor range has no steam sensor to report. --- **[Read on the site: Dacor dual-fuel steam range showing C-70](https://rangerepair.center/error-codes/dacor-range-c-70/)** **[Book a visit with RangeRepair.center](https://rangerepair.center/schedule/)**
