On the Cafe CHS900P induction range, a pan that is not ferrous or is too small keeps the element from starting. Its ON indicator flashes for 25 seconds and then goes out. Café range display What to do when Flashing ON indicator shows on the range ### Kind of code Surface elements and induction A radiant element, a coil or an induction zone did not heat the way the control expected, or ran hotter than it should. The pan, the switch behind the knob and the wiring to the element come first; on induction, the power board and the coil under the glass are checked next. A zone that will not switch off, or a crack in the glass, means the breaker goes off before anything else. ### Usually leads to Surface element and glass top repair Electric zones that stay cold, run too hot or will not switch off, and cracked or damaged glass on radiant and induction models. ### Shows up as Induction Range Not Detecting Pan An induction zone flashes, beeps, shows its no-pan symbol or switches itself off, even with a pan sitting right on it. ### Make Café A GE Appliances line with interchangeable hardware finishes, selling slide-in and professional-style ranges on every fuel. ### Source Cafe owner's manual, induction slide-in range CHS900P Cafe induction slide-in range CHS900P (manual 49-2001030). ## Before you book, in this order. Check the pan with a magnet and use one at least the minimum size. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### My Cafe induction element flashes and turns off. Is it broken? Probably not. That is how it reacts to a pan it cannot use; try a magnetic pan of the right size. ### What if I lift the pan off my Cafe induction range? The manual says an element shuts its power off if the pan is off or off-center for more than 30 seconds. --- **[Read on the site: Cafe induction range with a flashing ON indicator](https://rangerepair.center/error-codes/cafe-on-indicator-flash/)** **[Book a visit with RangeRepair.center](https://rangerepair.center/schedule/)**
