FD on GE Appliances controls points to the temperature probe or the socket in the oven wall it plugs into. Cafe ranges that come with a probe use it for probe cooking. Café range display What to do when FD shows on the range ### Kind of code Temperature sensor The oven sensor sent a reading the control would not accept, or one that climbed well past the setting. A loose plug or a sensor that has drifted is ruled out before the control board, and a temperature that keeps rising means the range is switched off at the breaker first. ### Usually leads to Temperature sensor and thermostat repair A range oven that bakes hot, bakes slow, takes forever to preheat or posts a sensor code, traced to the sensor probe, the thermostat or the calibration. ### Shows up as Range Error Code The range display shows letters, numbers or a flashing symbol, beeps, and stops the oven, a cooking zone or a clean. ### Make Café A GE Appliances line with interchangeable hardware finishes, selling slide-in and professional-style ranges on every fuel. ### Source GE Appliances support: Range & Wall Oven error codes Cafe ranges with a temperature probe, per GE Appliances' shared range and wall oven code page. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Café's own guidance for FD on its ranges. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Unplug the probe and check its plug and cable for damage. 02 Reset the breaker; if FD returns with no probe inserted, book a visit for the receptacle. ### Still there? Unplug the probe and check its plug and cable for damage. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Can I cook on my Cafe range without the probe while FD shows? Unplugging the probe is the first step. If the code stays with the probe out, the receptacle becomes the likely suspect. ### Which part does FD usually lead to on a Cafe range? GE names either the probe or the receptacle. A probe is a plug-in part; the receptacle sits in the oven wall and takes more work. --- **[Read on the site: Cafe range showing FD | RangeRepair.center](https://rangerepair.center/error-codes/cafe-fd/)** **[Book a visit with RangeRepair.center](https://rangerepair.center/schedule/)**
