F7 is one of four codes GE Appliances ties to the keypanel. On a Cafe range with touch controls, pads may ignore presses or act on their own. Café range display What to do when F7 shows on the range ### Kind of code Controls and communication The display, the main board or the induction power board lost contact with one another, or one of them failed its own self-check. A power dip, a loose cable or moisture from a boil-over is ruled out before a board is replaced, and a range that keeps heating while this code shows is switched off at the breaker. ### Usually leads to Knobs, switches and controls Knobs that spin or crack, touch keys that do nothing, blank displays, clocks that reset and control boards that switch the wrong thing. ### Shows up as Range Control Panel Not Responding The touch keys or knobs on the range do nothing, only some keys work, the display is blank or frozen, or it beeps without starting. ### Make Café A GE Appliances line with interchangeable hardware finishes, selling slide-in and professional-style ranges on every fuel. ### Source GE Appliances support: Range & Wall Oven error codes Cafe ranges with electronic controls, per GE Appliances' shared code page; the Cafe manuals themselves list only a generic F code. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Café's own guidance for F7 on its ranges. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Turn the breaker off for a minute or two and back on. 02 If F7 does not clear, book a visit; keep the breaker off apart from brief use of the burners or elements. ### Still there? It usually turns into [knobs, switches and controls](https://rangerepair.center/services/knobs-switches-and-controls/). Turn the breaker off for a minute or two and back on. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why does my Cafe range show F7 after cleaning the panel? Liquid on the touch panel can upset it. Let it dry fully and reset power before assuming the panel failed. ### Is F7 on a Cafe the same as F0 on a GE? GE Appliances gives both the same keypanel meaning. The Cafe control just reports it under a different number. --- **[Read on the site: Cafe range showing F7 | RangeRepair.center](https://rangerepair.center/error-codes/cafe-f7/)** **[Book a visit with RangeRepair.center](https://rangerepair.center/schedule/)**
