Cafe's professional dual-fuel ranges broil only with the door shut. If it is left open, the display asks you to close it and the elements stay off; the same prompt appears when self-clean is set with the door open. Café range display What to do when CLOSE DOOR shows on the range ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure Something the range was told to do, or a state it chose on purpose — a control lock, a Sabbath setting, a demo mode that lights the display but never heats, a pan warning on an induction zone. Nothing has worn out, and no part is needed. ### Usually leads to No repair Shut the oven door all the way. ### Shows up as Range Broiler Not Working The broil setting does not heat, heats along only part of the element, or a gas broiler never lights. ### Make Café A GE Appliances line with interchangeable hardware finishes, selling slide-in and professional-style ranges on every fuel. ### Source Cafe owner's manual, 36- and 48-inch professional dual-fuel ranges C2Y366/C2Y486 Cafe professional dual-fuel ranges C2Y366 and C2Y486 (manual 49-2000660). ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Café's own guidance for CLOSE DOOR on its ranges. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Shut the oven door all the way. 02 If the message stays with the door shut, check that the door is not blocked and book a visit. ### Cleared? The range was set right without a new part. If the same message comes back while a burner or the oven is in use, or the range cuts out again, treat it as a new problem and book it. ### What not to do CLOSE DOOR is not a lock failure. ## What you may notice with it. Shut the oven door all the way. ### Why won't my Cafe pro range broil with the door open? It is designed for closed-door broiling. With the door open, the elements wait and CLOSE DOOR shows. ### My Cafe door is shut and CLOSE DOOR is still on. What does that mean? The range is not detecting a closed door. The door and whatever senses it are checked on a visit. --- **[Read on the site: Cafe range showing CLOSE DOOR | RangeRepair.center](https://rangerepair.center/error-codes/cafe-close-door/)** **[Book a visit with RangeRepair.center](https://rangerepair.center/schedule/)**
