Each eR7 zone is measured by a duplex thermocouple, two sensors in one probe, and 020 to 024 means their readings have drifted too far apart. AGA's action for this group is a new thermocouple. AGA range display · also shown as 020, 021, 022, 023, 024 What to do when 020-024 shows on the range ### Kind of code Temperature sensor The oven sensor sent a reading the control would not accept, or one that climbed well past the setting. A loose plug or a sensor that has drifted is ruled out before the control board, and a temperature that keeps rising means the range is switched off at the breaker first. ### Usually leads to Temperature sensor and thermostat repair A range oven that bakes hot, bakes slow, takes forever to preheat or posts a sensor code, traced to the sensor probe, the thermostat or the calibration. ### Shows up as Range Error Code The range display shows letters, numbers or a flashing symbol, beeps, and stops the oven, a cooking zone or a clean. ### Make AGA A British cooking name, owned by Middleby, that sells cast-iron heat-storage cookers and more conventional dual-fuel and induction ranges in the US. ### Source AGA eR7 Field Service Manual, USA and Canada eR7 ranges use the same duplex thermocouple type in every zone, hotplates included. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from AGA's own guidance for 020-024 on its ranges. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Note the exact number shown on the handset. 02 Book a visit; the technician watches both readings at cooking heat with service software before exchanging the probe. ### Still there? It usually turns into [temperature sensor and thermostat repair](https://rangerepair.center/services/temperature-sensor-and-thermostat-repair/). Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do A probe that tests fine on a cold range can still be the cause, since AGA has seen thermocouples drift apart only when hot. ## What you may notice with it. Note the exact number shown on the handset. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why was the thermocouple on my AGA eR7 changed when it tested fine? AGA has found probes that read correctly at room temperature and drift apart only at cooking heat. Watching both readings while hot is how 020-024 is confirmed. ### Can 020-024 show up on an AGA eR7 hotplate as well as an oven? Yes. The hotplates use the same duplex thermocouple as the ovens, so the code can belong to any zone. --- **[Read on the site: AGA eR7 range showing error 020-024 | RangeRepair.center](https://rangerepair.center/error-codes/aga-020-024/)** **[Book a visit with RangeRepair.center](https://rangerepair.center/schedule/)**
