# Technical team behind the guides.

The range technicians who come out for the visits booked on this site. Their articles draw on ranges they have pulled away from the counter to check burners, elements and oven parts, read side by side with the maker's installation and owner's manuals where those exist.

## Who writes the guides.

The range articles here are written by the technicians who slide ranges out from the counter and repair them in the kitchen. Most begin with a complaint we hear week after week: a burner that clicks without lighting, an element on the glass top that stays cold, a range oven that runs too hot or too cool, or a code on the control panel.

We do not write about makes we do not repair or codes no manufacturer has put in print. Where an owner's manual or a safety agency speaks to a point, the article links to that page; where a statement rests only on what we see on service calls, the article says so plainly.

Why a gas burner won't light: clicks, silence and the cap

## How a guide is written.

Four rules every guide on this site follows, from the first question to the last revision.

01

### Drawn from range repair calls

Topics come from what people describe when they book a range visit, together with the quick checks, like a loose burner cap or a range left in lockout mode, that sometimes settle the problem on their own.

02

### Matched to the manufacturer's manuals

Model details, gas and electrical hookup requirements and the meaning of each code come from the maker's installation guide, owner's manual or service literature, with a link placed beside the sentence that depends on it.

03

### Gas and fire safety as the agencies say it

Anything we write about gas leaks, tip-over, burns, fire or shock follows material published by the CPSC and comparable agencies, stated in their own terms and linked so readers can check it.

04

### Visible publication dates

Each range article shows the day it was published and the day it was last updated, and we update it once a manufacturer or agency changes the page it cites.

## Questions about the guides.

### Who writes the range articles on this site?

The technicians who handle the range repairs booked through this site. What they learn on visits is checked against the manufacturer's published manuals wherever those are available.

### Do range makers have a say in these articles?

No. We are an independent repair company, and no manufacturer pays for, edits or approves anything we publish.

### What should I do if a range article looks wrong?

Send a note through the contact page naming the article and the statement in question. Once we confirm the fix, we correct the article and its updated date changes to match.
